I do stock trading based on pure technical analysis and mathematical modeling. In my free time I try to understand the fundamental principals that drive the market and apply simple mathematical models on them.
Needless to say, I'm not doing any rocket science as I don't have access to large super computers like some of the investment firms have, but I guess for a trader like me, and perhaps hundreds of thousands of traders out there, we don't really need to disect market dynamics to the extent that we would need super computers. Sticking to some basic principals and sheer passion is just enough to be quite successful in the market ;-).
